This is the first song I wrote on my acoustic for my acoustic. I've written countless rock songs with my acoustic, but only out of convenience. I've always assumed in the past, that my songs would be played on my telecaster through my loud mesa cabinet. But this isn't that kind of song. This one's too naked and exposed to muddy up with noise. Sometimes I think a lot when I write. Sometimes, I wake up with a song in my head - words and all. All I have to do is write it down. This one was somewhere in between. It came in spurts over a 2 week span. I'd think of a verse and write it down and then nothing for a couple days. Then another verse. The thing I like is that none of it was deliberate or intentional. I just wrote what came to mind at that moment.

the right thing to say at this moment escapes me again and if i give up - it's not giving in if you were dying i would die too but i don't think that i can stay here with you are you tired cuz i'm tired too i'm over - i'm under but i'm not getting through you can lie in the street feeling safe or in danger lie in a bed all alone or with strangers you don't need help but you do need something new (chorus) but you want a man a man of action you wanted thrills you want attraction you want a man a man of purpose a man who moves you a man who moves you not one who moves on... there's no pretending when you're alone i don't need a compass cuz i'm already home you can be changed or defined by an action you can get lost in the midst of distraction you want what you want but you're not sure you know why chorus
